The screen is the last decision, not the first. Before anything is styled, someone has to settle who is using this, what they came to finish, and what the product does at every point where that can go wrong.

Why It Matters

A polished screen can still be the wrong screen.

Most app problems that look like design problems are decision problems. The person using it cannot tell what to do next, or the product asks for something before it has earned it, or the one path that matters is buried under everything else that was possible.

That is settled long before the interface is styled — in who the product is for, what they came to finish, and what happens at every point where that could go wrong. Get the order right and the interface becomes almost obvious. Get it wrong and no amount of visual work rescues it.

    What the product is for, who it serves and which problem it genuinely solves — worked out with you from what you already know about your users, and stated plainly enough to design against.

  • Flows & Information Architecture

    Navigation, task flows and the order information appears in — what belongs on one screen, what belongs deeper, and what the product should never make someone hunt for. Structure before surface.

  • Interface & Prototype Design

    The interface itself: layout, type, interaction and the visual system carrying it. Where a flow is worth putting in front of people before it is built, we prototype it — scoped to what the decision actually needs.

  • Design System & Developer Handoff

    Components, patterns and the states each one has, documented so the same element behaves the same way everywhere. What engineering receives is a definition to build from, not a folder of screens.

How We Work

Four phases,

  1. Phase 1

    User & Product Discovery

    We establish who the product is for, what they are trying to finish and what the business needs from it — the problem definition everything after this is measured against.

  2. Phase 2

    Flows & Information Architecture

    Task flows, navigation and information hierarchy, including the points where a journey branches or stalls. The structure is agreed before a screen is designed, because changing it later changes everything above it.

  3. Phase 3

    Interface & Prototype Design

    Screens designed against those flows, with every state the product can be in given a considered answer. Where it earns its place, a clickable prototype puts the flow in front of people first.

  4. Phase 4

    Design System & Developer Handoff

    Components, patterns, states and specifications assembled into something engineering can build from directly — with a walkthrough, so the intent survives the handover rather than being reinterpreted.
